This diary is motivated by having to spend time in traffic this evening listening to NPR do a story on McCain's visit to the VFW today.  During this somewhat predictable event, McCain once again hammered Barack on the Surge and how it "worked".

The time has come (and hopefully not gone) where Barack needs to call McShame on this BS!  The Surge DID NOT work, and Barack was right to oppose it.

And it would be nice if Obama would come out and SAY so!

I generally haven't had very much nice to say about Barack for some time now, but I have to say that I was impressed by his first response to the Russia-Georgia fiasco.

Unfortunately, he didn't seem to quite hold to that position...

A couple of days ago I debated whether I cared enough to spend to requisite 10 minutes to write a diary on this subject.  And then I saw the most recent ad that Kos was shilling on the front page and I thought, what the heck.

Might as well...the only thing I hate more than bad, is lame.

Okay, I've pretty much given up on Barack at this point.  But this is getting just f***ing pathetic!

When Nancy "I don't have a clue" Pelosi seems more Progressive than the presumptive Dem candidate, then things are pretty bad in Barack-ville.

Now that Barack is back from overseas, and ready to deal with the day to day campaign, there really isn't a lot to talk about except who he'll pick for his running mate.

What has puzzled me in the discussion and debate is why so many folks, particularly Progressives, seem to be leaning toward conservative Dems.

That just seems ridiculous to me, so I wanted to post a simple question:

Why would Barack choose a DLC type for VP?

I've had a wierd convergence over the last couple of days.

First, I've had a lot of my Progressive friends asking me WTF with regard to my intense dislike of Barack.  

Second, I've seen and listened to some of the recent resurgence of DLC tripe on both TV and at NN.

And I had a realiziation (not quite an epiphany): we thought we were nomintating Bobby Kennedy, and we really nominated Harold Ford.

This is just a short chat about something that was on the radio today that I hadn't heard before.  It was a discussion about the "Chicago Boys" who are Barack's chief economic advisors.  And it led me to some more startling stuff that I hadn't heard.

But after both listening and googling, it just showed me one more reason to be disgusted with Barack and his parody of Progressive thought and behavior.

Wow, it doesn't get much worse than this.  And lets hope Barack doesn't have too many days that are like this.

Maybe if he gets all of this type of stuff out of the way in one fell swoop he can not blow this election.

Oh, yeah, this is not a concern troll diary; I'm not "concerned" about anything with Barack right now...just amused.

Now, I know that there are a number of folks here who think I am just a run of the mill troll, and on the surface of it, this would seem like just another troll diary.

But bear with me, and suffer through another one of these diaries that I write.

I work with a large number of conservatives in my DoD job, and we have had some interesting exchanges over the past week or so.  And they got me thinking a little bit...

This is just a quicky, purely out of curiosity.

Figure I'll just catch whoever clicks the poll.  Totally unscientific, but interesting to me.

Hey, I just wanted to wonder out loud about something that really annoyed me today...

Apparently McShame compared Barack to Jimmy Carter...and the vast majority of Progressive media (not to mention the FauxNews crowd) found itself in a snit.

Well, I just wanted to take a minute and say, if President Barack is half the man President Carter is, then we will be in luck!

Okay, I have taken an amazing, but not unanticipated, amount of crap from folks because I am "suddenly" disaffected with Barack.  My primary reason, re-emphasised over the weekend, was his politically expedient behavior with regard to Trinity and their message.

Most of the complaints I have gotten, here and elsewhere, are about how "trivial" (in y'alls minds) my complaints are.

But THIS one is something every Progressive should be bothered by.

This kind of diary isn't going to be very popular around here (or in any Progressive circles), but I have done a bit of soul searching over the last 30 days or so.  And I wanted to just put my thoughts down.  

I realize this diary will disappear into oblivion soon enough, so no harm done. But I really just wanted to get my feelings out because I am so damn disappointed in Barack that I can't stand myself.  I worked really hard for him in my state, and fought plenty of fights on his behalf.

But now I am done with him, and I have six reasons why...

And none of them have anything to do with Hillary!

I have been a huge supporter of Barack.  He is the guy I've been behind for quite awhile now.  Check my older diaries if you wonder about that.  And while I've been steeling myself for a Barack loss in November, because I think the Repug machine is too good for him to beat, I had resigned myself to still working hard for him and for the Progressive cause!

But today something changed for me...

Today, the scales fell from my eyes and I saw Barack Obama for what he truly is: a weak man and a standard politician.  I really never thought I would say this...

But I am disgusted with him!

I have found myself both depressed and elated by the current state of our candidates.  I have come to love Barack and everything he stands for; I think he is right on every single issue, across the board.

And as a long time Hillary-hater, watching him vanquish her has been sheer joy!

But, I have also come to the personal conclusion that there is no way Barack can win the general election.  And a recent Time Magazine article provided a single sentance quote that crystallized why I believe this.

...and, yes, I really believe that.

I can't see any way, after all of these shenanigans with the party, and the whole Wright fiasco, that he can win.

And, you know what, I'm okay with that...

But I wanted to write a diary to see if, after really collecting my thoughts, I REALLY believed I could live with losing to McCain.

I haven't bothered writing much since Barack seemed to lock things up.  I'm waiting to see how the General starts to unfold when someone finally puts a stake in Hillary.

And I really don't have anything much to add to the commentary on today's speech...except to say: I would have expected nothing less!

However...

This isn't a diary I intended to write yesterday.  Then I saw Tim Russert on Today this AM, and it has been bugging me ever since.  So, I decided to just write down what I was thinking.

Now, this is all anecdotal and it is borderline trollish, but I really just wanted to share what happened last night at one of our regular Democratic party get-togethers in my area.

Take it for what you will.  I am a Barack supporter at this point, and so am obviously partisan.  But this is just too much for me.
